I sometimes dream about them in my sleep. In fact, the cutlets are what brought me to this blog post -- I googled "HPS Friday Cutlet" and this page was the top result. Haha.

I remember you sat in the vegetarian section, so no mention of the mutton curry on Wednesdays, which (in the omnivorous dining section) was the only day of the week that meat was served to day scholars. But it was pretty ordinary! In fact it was pretty bad to tell the truth .. LOL.

Tuesday rajma-chawal, I agree, was the next best thing in the weekly lunch menu, hands down. The 'ghee' on Wednesdays btw was Dalda.

I wish an ex-boarder with a fabulous memory (like yours) wrote a blog post on breakfasts and dinners served to boarders. Trust me, if you think the day-scholars' lunch was good, the boarders' dinners and breakfasts were even more memorable. Nothing to beat the Friday lunch cutlet of course, but almost equally memorable were the breakfast potato salan served on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and the potato & capsicum khorma/salan/ whatever served for Thursday dinners. The poori & egg khagina (bhurji) served for Thursday breakfasts was excellent too.

Anyway, thanks for the blog post. Enjoyed reading it. I'm your senior by 3 years.

Love & Regards.
Anonymous ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
